Young people eat junk food and overeat during college days. They do not gain weight because of youth. Therefore, the rules of eating are not taken seriously. But education then careers then marriage .. then weight gain of two kilos. Mothers-in-law are all happy saying ‘marriage is human’. A few years later the first child was born. Weight gain. When I stand in front of the mirror, I don’t know who I am. There are those who ignore the idea of gaining weight at this age. Nowadays even farmers work out on a tractor without fail, when you meet your BP or a friend with diabetes you miss the importance of fitness.
I have always loved cycling. I used to cycle everywhere like college, class, Bharatanatyam. My mother was a Bharatanatyam dancer. She wanted me to work in some feminine fields like dance, art. I, however, wore jeans and rode my bicycle everywhere. After 10th grade, my mother advised me to become a dietitian. That is why I took admitted to the Nutritionist course. I got married while pursuing postgraduate studies. After marriage, as many women gain weight, so did my weight gain. As usual, this was the understanding of my family.
